About

Sarah Ashbaugh

My work is a culmination of my extreme passion for the outdoors. By painting and ruminating on the beauty of the natural world I get to make my experiences sacred. I rekindled my need to be surrounded by nature during my 5 years working at a greenhouse and have since completed many outdoor goals. Since 2018 I’ve completed The Colorado Trail, Tour Du Mont Blanc, all 59 of the Colorado Fourteeners including Sunlight Spire (a left leaning crack climb & 3 of the 4 great traverses), climbed Mt. Hood, and started working on the 13ers. I have fallen in love with rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, skiing, trail running and more.

These mountains have challenged me and become a catalyst for personal growth. After graduating with a bachelors’s from CSU in Fine Art, I was a bit lost when it came to my personal voice. Reaching the edge of my physical ability and concurring myself in these outdoor arenas gave me strength and vision to concur my artistic mountains. Here I am now, extremely curious and enthused to depict the essence of “experience” and “place”. I view it all as a gift in meditation, reflection and enlightenment and for those gifts i’m forever grateful!

I’m here for the wind.
Air and color.
To feel and reflect.
